COLLEGE OF EDUCATION & HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Texas A&M University

Dissertation Library

Welcome to the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development Dissertation Library. All EAHR Dissertations/Record of Study submitted to the Thesis Office prior to summer 2004 are available as hard copy in the main office, 511 Harrington Tower or the Sterling C. Evans Library, 3rd Floor. If you would like to check out any manuscripts through our department, please contact Bill Ashworth.

Beginning spring 2003, the Thesis Office began a pilot program allowing the Dissertations/Record of Study to be submitted in electronic pdf format. This process was a success and in summer 2004, it became mandatory to submit all manuscripts electronically; no hard copies. This means very few manuscripts between spring 2003 and summer 2004 are available in electronic format, however, please contact Bill Ashworth for this information and he will be glad to help you. Feel free to browse the links below to search by a key word index, by year, by commitee chair, or by author. To see if an electronic version is available, please select the listing by year below and a hyperlink will be displayed after the title IF a Dissertation/Record of Study is available.

The Word Index - The purpose of the Word Index is for the researchers to look up key words from dissertation titles to give them ideas for research topics. In the cell beside the word or phrase is the volume number of the dissertation in which it is located.

The next step is to go to the Dissertation List by Year and find the volume number. Here, the name of the student, date of defense, title of work, and chair/co-chair are listed.

Listing by Year - In this Dissertation List by Year, you will find the author of the work, the date of defense, whether it was a dissertation, record of study, or a master's thesis, along with the name of the chair/co-chair of the work. There is a link to the Web site where these may be located; just click on the URL, and  you will be taken to the work. If you find the words Temporarily Unavailable, that means that the student blocked the project from release to the public for a period of time. As soon as they are released, this page will be updated. All other titles are located in hard copy in the main office of the EAHR Department or the Sterling C. Evans Library, 3rd Floor..

Listing by Committee Chair  - The purpose of this page is to help the student find something a particular faculty member chaired or co-chaired and what they required/expected from the student. You will find the faculty member's name and then to the right, the volume numbers associated with the faculty in question. Again, you then go to the List by Year to find the title, etc.

Listing by Author - The purpose of this page is to find a dissertation if you do not know the time the student defended. It is the same information as the List by Year, only arranged alphabetically by Author.
