University Literacy Center Receives Excellence Award

Dominique Chlup, former director of the Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy and Learning (TCALL), and her entire staff received a Recognition of Excellence Award at the Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education's (TALAE) annual conference in Corpus Christi, Feb. 28 - March 1.

"This award is especially meaningful to me since I have stepped down as director of the center to dedicate my attention to my scholarship and teaching," Chlup said. "I've always known my staff was amazing, and I'm so happy they were recognized in this way. I can't think of a more deserving staff." 

The award was given on behalf of Texas LEARNS and TALAE to show appreciation for the TCALL staff's outstanding commitment to adult education and going above and beyond the call of duty.

The staff is comprised of Ken Appelt, Jenna Burden, Melaney Dodson, Peggy Sue Durbin, Stella Earhart, Deyanira Ely, Juanita Garcia, Becky Kubena, Donna Mancuso, Ashley Matus, Emily Moore, Susan Morris, Robin Rabinowitz, Genny Reid, Renata Russo, Rose Santos, Lea Ann Schroeder, Eddie Sherman, Harriet Smith, and Leslie Tomaszewski.
